We can discuss the wide range of contraceptive options to suit a patient’s particular needs and to ensure our patients have the knowledge to use them effectively (e.g. non-hormonal IUD, hormonal IUD/Mirena/Kyleena, implant/Implanon, injection, oral contraceptive pill, condom, Nuva ring).
We insert IUDs under sedation/anaesthetic. We remove IUDs. IUD removal can be carried out under sedation if requested or an IUD is able to be removed in the consulting room.
Prescriptions (eg for the oral contraceptive pill) can be provided.
The new morning after pill, Ella, is available on prescription at the Fertility Control Clinic.
The Postinor II morning after pill is available over the counter at your pharmacy.
Post-operative surgical patients and medical abortion patients have access to the Clinic’s 24-hour Emergency phone service.
